In order for PJ Printers to give you the finest sports book possible, we have established some guidelines that will help us move forward with the least amount of problems. We will furnish you with a notebook and clear plastic sleeves to make a dummy book. The plastic sleeves will have a sample of what the page is to look like. Any original photos, art, or ads go behind the sample page. DO NOT use paper clips or staples, they can damage the art or photos. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. We look forward to working with you.

Applications we do accept:
Word, Publisher, Corel Draw Applications can accept for sports programs:
Powerpoint, Excel, Works, ( if you aren’t sure please call )

3. Please supply all fonts used in your document and any imported graphics. We prefer Type 1 Postscipt and require both printer and screen fonts. Avoid stylizing (italic, bold) fonts.

4. Scans of photos should be done at 300 dpi and placed in your document at 100%. Black & White photos should be in a screen value range of 92% for your shadow dot & 2% for Highlight. Hopefully the mid-tones will take care of themselves following this guideline, if not and faces are to dark or light we need to make the necessary adjustment. Color photos should be CMYK. Line art scans should be scanned at a minimum of 600 dpi, though we prefer 1200 dpi. Remember that if you use images off the internet, those images are usually low res (72 dpi) and RGB, not a good idea for printing.

5. Please print the directory of the disk you are bringing us, indicating which document(s) you want printed.

Camera Ready Art

1. Art should be done on 8.5" by 11" ten to fifteen point card stock.

2. All copy should be black and white.

3. There should be a minimum 3/8" margin from the edge of the art board to the start of copy on all 4 sides.

4. If we are scanning your photos, both the photo and where it placed on the art board need to be marked with the page number and a letter starting with A (such as 23-A, 23-B, 23-C). Indicate any cropping for the photos. Make sure that the box size and the photo shape are proportional. Player names and player numbers need to be on each photo.

5. Collage pages that have both line art and photos require a double scan. The charge for the extra scan is $20 for an 8.5" x 11".
